Stunning Vintage Wedding at Peak Edge Hotel, Derbyshire

I had the pleasure of capturing the beautiful and intimate wedding of Emma and Steve at The Peak Edge Hotel on the outskirts of Chesterfield in the stunning Derbyshire Peak District. An award winning wedding venue incorporating excellent facilities and exquisite food. When I arrived to capture the bridal preparations I met up with Emma and her bridal party in the York Suite. With plenty of time ahead of the ceremony it was the perfect opportunity to document some of the details, such as Emma’s jewellery, shoes, flowers and most importantly the gorgeous dress.

The morning’s preparations was a very relaxed affair and whilst the ladies were having the finishing touches applied to their hair and make up, it gave me a chance to pop out and meet Steve and his Groom’ Party.

Back inside the hotel with Emma, her Sister Sarah, Sarah’s daughters and Mum it was soon the time for Emma to get into her beautiful dress, but first she had to attach a dainty vintage bird cage fascinator. I often see veils and tiaras, but this was the first time I had come across one of these on a bride and it looked exquisite.

It was a beautiful and touching moment when Emma’s Father saw his daughter for the first time. I do admit to being caught off guard during moments like this and often there is a lump in my throat. I do question if it is a moment that I should document as it is so personal for those involved, but on this occasion I felt that both Emma and her Father would be happy with me doing so.

The couple’s son Seb was being looked after by his Grandparents prior to his Parent’s wedding and as he arrived in his Grandma’s arms he looked one super cool dude with his little Converse trainers and outfit.

Emma’s entrance was emotionally charged and it was an absolute honour to see the love between them as they exchanged vows and declared their commitment to one another other in front of their closest friends and family.

After the ceremony the happy couple and their guests made their way out onto the terrace overlooking the beautiful Peak Park where they enjoyed canapés and champagne. The groups shots soon followed and then it was time to take the couple off to capture some couple shots. After the emotion of a wedding ceremony and the bustle of meeting everyone afterwards the couple shots are often the first time the new Mr and Mrs get a moment together.

The grounds at The Peak Edge Hotel are wonderful for wedding photographs. A natural lake with a feature bridge are the perfect backdrop and look fabulous when adorned with a stunning couple.

The wedding breakfast was a more informal affair where guests were treated to a slideshow and commentary from Steve’s Father which certainly entertained everyone. The cake was soon cute and followed by the couple taking to the dance floor.
After this I had an opportunity to go back outside with the couple and make the most of the glorious sunset.
The Evening celebrations were in full swing as I said my goodbyes to the couple and left them partying into the small hours.

Many congratulations to Emma and Steve. It was an absolute pleasure.
