When you’ve made your home the stunning city of Dubai what location do you choose to host your wedding day? For Simon & Laura it was always going to be Norwood Park in Nottinghamshire and they were delighted to be back in the UK with their closest friends and family to celebrate their wedding day.
Selecting one of the most stunning venues to host their day, Norwood Park looked so incredible for this fabulously festive celebration of love.
It was so good to be back at Norwood, and it was my first Christmas wedding there but wowzers, it looks even more stunning at this time of the year!
When I arrived at Norwood, Laura and her ladies were in the West Wing and Bridal Orangery, perfectly preparing for the day ahead. With beautiful, natural light and full access to mirrors, hanging rails and seated areas, it is such a great space for initial hair and make up before the final stages of preparations, and Laura, along with her ladies were making the most of their surroundings.
Meanwhile Simon and his Groomsmen were busy readying in the Viscount Suite before moving on for some formal portraits with the second photographer.
Louise from Kick Ass Gatherings was performing the duties as celebrant for the ceremony and it ensured guests were fully immersed and entertained with stories of the couple and their journey, from first meeting, right up to the wedding day. There were some really funny and emotional personal memories to share. Stories of travelling the world together, through to a very surprising link to the groom and his cheerleading skills.
The beauty of a celebrant led ceremony, especially with Louise is that it is so personal. Each and every story is fully researched, then delivered with her genuine storytelling prowess, so here’s hoping to a future with many more celebrant weddings, especially with such a talent as Louise from Kick Ass Gatherings.
The spaces available for your wedding day at Norwood are so perfectly considered and extensive. This extends to the exclusive use of the gardens and despite the chilly conditions the newlyweds were more than happy stepping outdoors for some couple portraits, but we did keep it to a minimum, which is so much easier when there are two photographers working together, and very soon the couple were back warming by the open fire ahead of being announced to take their seats for the wedding breakfast.
Following the speeches there was a surprise visit by Santa Claus who provided gifts, leading into a very entertaining game of pass the parcel.
Before the evening reception began it was back over to the main house to capture the couple alongside the beautiful Christmas tree, then outdoors for a quick sparker tunnel.
Back in the Gallery the couple took to the dance floor and delighted guests with their High School Musical mash up.
It was the last wedding of the year for me and what a way to end 2022 on such a high.
The day was fun and fabulous from beginning to end and the newlyweds were so gracious and generous with their time that we were able to capture some wonderful moments.
Thank you to Simon and Laura for selecting Marie Anson Photography to capture their wedding day memories.
