Thornbridge Hall is one of the most stunning wedding venues I have ever had the honour of photographing. Set in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District, it boasts the most incredible gardens and vista over the valley. With it’s stunning mix of traditional Georgian architecture juxtaposed with contemporary interiors it’s a serious ‘wow’ assault on the senses.

I was honoured to be asked by Jenna if I would capture her day. She had previously seen my work and knew that we would be a good fit for her wedding day photography vision.

Jenna is a successful lady in her own rights so I was delighted; and after meeting her lovely partner Simon I just knew we were in for a great day. Joy at Unique Wedding Planning was assisting the couple in the planning of their amazing wedding day and it was certainly one than stands out for many reasons.

“When someone gives you lemons… make everything!”

Jenna’s colour scheme for the day was a beautiful lemon yellow. This was evident in the soft hue of the bridesmaids gowns, to the accentuating Craspedia flowers in Jenna’s bouquet. It was mixed with natural elements too including succulent plants and real lemons in abundance. Their aroma permeated the air adding a beautiful scent to the venue.

Fresh lemons were everywhere, sliced and added to candle votives for the architectural table centrepieces, wired into the bridesmaids bouquets. Suspended from bay trees framing the entrance, cut in half and scooped out creating natural tea light holders.
