Magical Winter Wedding at Hotel Van Dyk

It’s very rare that I get the opportunity to capture a wedding day with the additional bonus of fresh snow. As it so happened Sarah and Craig’s wedding day at Hotel Van Dyk was timed to perfection.

Getting to the wedding venue wasn’t a problem, as Hotel Van Dyk is less than a mile from my home and considering the snow, it was something I was very grateful for on this cold December morning.

I arrived to find Sarah, her Mum and beautiful daughters getting ready in one of the luxury bedrooms available at the hotel. The girls were so excited and couldn’t wait to get into their dresses to have their pictures taken. There were some lovely moments between them and it was a delight to photograph.

Craig was also getting ready in another room within the hotel and once he was ready we quickly stepped outside for a few shots with his best man and the couple’s adorable son.

Sarah looked so elegant in her beautiful classic bridal gown, and her complimentary bouquet in cream roses and lilies looked gorgeous. It was supplied by Black Eyed Susan, who I regularly come across and I think their work is fantastic.

Craig was extremely nervous in the final moments before Sarah arrived and it was so lovely watching his reactions as she made her grand entrance. This couple were adorable and throughout the ceremony they couldn’t take their eyes off each another.

The snow was a fantastic photo opportunity and we made the most of this rarity in the hotel’s grounds before heading back inside to their bridal suite.

The room looked beautiful and their colour scheme complimented perfectly. It was also great to have the added bonus of a Christmas tree to set the scene.

It was a fantastic wedding and one that I was delighted to play a part in. Sarah and Craig were so easy going and were a delight to work with.

Many congratulations to Craig and Sarah
